This is another great stay-cation to add to the list if you’re a resident of Dubai. To begin my three weeks of relaxation this summer, I spent a night at VIDA Hotel Downtown, Dubai. My vacation sunglasses were on as soon as I left the house and made my way down to the older part of the city. In one of the newer areas of Dubai that is ironically called ‘The Old Town’ in ‘Downtown Dubai’, which is isn’t really the downtown either. Fairly central, it’s a good choice for travellers who want to do and see a bit of everything.
VIDA is a perfect choice for fashionistas alike in Downtown Dubai, radiating a melange between contemporary interiors Arabian architecture. Not to mention that the rooms are incredible value for the price and excellent value for money, which of course means more to spend at the Dubai Mall only a walk away. The rooms are chic and minimal with subtle touches of Arabia within the décor.
Vida Downtown reflects Dubai in its fashionable age, very similarly to its sister hotel, Al Manzil. The interiors are an ingenious potpourri of vivid whites and creams that compliment its outer arabesque-style construct.
To be completely honest, the highlight to my stay has definitely got to be the bed. It was like sleeping on a cloud and each of the cushions were probably the size of half my body. On top of this, Vida provide complimentary internet access, parking, and luxury rooms for seriously sensible rates.
Although the options are fairly limited due to the size of the hotel, Vida have 3in1, Stage2, and attached to it, La Serre and Toko Dubai. At every place I went for food from the Saturdaze brunch to having sliders in Stage2, I was always provided with multiple options that adhere to a vegan diet.
The room was spotless – 10/10.
Service was extraordinary, the staff were always extremely attentive.
