Created by perfumer Olivier Polge, the Ferré Black eau de toilette has top notes of grapefruit, lavender and pepper. I haven’t been very familiar with Gianfranco Ferré fragrances but definitely will be trying out a few more after smelling this fresh new scent.
Black for Men is inspired by some of Gianfranco Ferré’s most famous designs for men. The design of the bottle as well as the fragrance both parallel his fitted silhouettes, with layered enveloping garments where colour is used in colour gradients; and a mixture of fabrics such as wool, leather or denim, with black as the protagonist. Black is masculine, sophisticated and timeless. Like Gianfranco Ferré’s designs, it is a modern classic.
I’m in love with this fragrance and if you don’t understand all the perfume jargon i’d best describe it as a more sophisticated, musky and matured version of Armani Code. The only thing I have a problem with is that the fragrance doesn’t last very long but if you’re willing to re-apply throughout the day, then this smell is one you seriously don’t want to miss out on.
